Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are more than just buzzwords. They central to establishing successful workplaces in three key, interconnected ways. First, they are foundational for building relationships that reflect our broader social surroundings. Second, approaching DEI in ways that are genuine and authentic can establish workplace environments that employees and clients want to join. Third, building DEI into the foundations of your work can help you produce a product that has a further reach.
Samah Sabra, Niagara College's Workplace Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, will speak to all three of these components, discussing strategies that can support you in establishing DEI into your enterprise as you build it from the ground up.
Following Samah's talk, Samah will lead a panelist discussion with entrepreneurs who have made incorporating DEI practices a priority as they have built their teams. These entrepreneurs will share how they included EDI practices into their work, how incorporating DEI has shaped their work/company, and even how they have managed mistakes made along the way. Join us for an insightful discussion and lots of networking on June 27 at White Oaks from 2 - 5 p.m.
